IN-FIELD LOGISTICS, STACKING AND LITHIUM BATTERY USAGE

14 Ağustos 2023

In today's world, in all known sectors, increasing customer orientation, constantly changing and developing product entry and exit cycle, increasing competition with the entry of e-commerce platforms into the markets; wholesale and retail sales, production, service and service systems have revealed the need to prevent all unnecessary expenditures. The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to unnecessary expenditure is tangible and financially valuable products, but the disorganisation and disorganisation that comes with the lack of working principle creates both time and invisible value waste.

Today, all companies aiming to continuously improve in today's competitive environment continue with a lean approach to eliminating waste. Based on this, organised and easy working has become a necessity and the importance of stacking method in the factory and warehouse areas has increased every day.

Stacking is the way in which the material assets of the company concerned are actually stocked. Even a person who is very unfamiliar with the company and the stacked products can make an accurate prediction about the company's material assets from this stacking order. In other words, the stacking arrangement that comes with the in-plant logistics system is the packaged face of the companies.

In-plant logistics system is very important. It is important to plan the route to be drawn in the field, to ensure in-field order within working hours, to make the correct stacking plan, the adequacy of the vehicle and labour power to be used, and the vehicle periods to be used without causing business disruption. Proper management of the logistics system, which can be a costly system with the vehicles and manpower to be used, has always been important for the future decisions of the company.

Continuity of work in factories with continuous production, especially in sectors where heavy loads and internal and external logistics are active, large-scale factories working in 2 or 3 shifts, construction sector, retail or wholesale sales points such as food sector, is very important to ensure continuity and order. The main question at this point is; How should the suitability and continuity of the working hours of the stacking vehicles used be managed?

Electric forklifts, pallet trucks and stackers are the main tools that ensure safe and fast stacking of heavy loads and are used in every factory where logistics operations take place.  There are different battery options that can be used in these machines. Traditionally, the most widely known are lead acid batteries. In addition, it is possible to use lithium batteries, the technology of the future. Although it sounds interesting, the batteries used in these machines greatly affect the use of the machines, logistics operations, business continuity, time management - especially in the long term.

Sustainable lithium batteries, the technology of the future, have started to be used by many companies as an advantageous option compared to traditional batteries.

During the shift period of the enterprises, the maximum utilisation rate of the vehicles directly increases the operational efficiency. Vehicles powered by lithium batteries can be charged in short periods of time without any loss of capacity at any time. They do not need to allocate additional time for this process by making short-term intermediate charging during tea breaks, meal breaks. It can also reach full charge in an average of 2 hours.  In this way, since lithium batteries reach full charge level in a short time, there will be no need for spare battery supply and there will be no labour cost to manage the battery replacement and maintenance process.

Since lithium technology batteries do not require time-consuming operations such as adding water, they do not require maintenance and do not create maintenance costs.

Lithium batteries can be remotely monitored and intervened with the battery management system (BMS) that comes with advanced battery technologies. In lithium battery packs via BMS, values such as current, voltage, temperature, charging status of the battery can be monitored instantly by the user via an external display. When the optimum values are exceeded, the system is protected by intervening the system with BMS. Thanks to the advanced Battery Management System, lithium batteries are suitable for safe use with the Battery Management System, which protects the battery pack against short circuit, overcharge and high temperature.

Within the scope of sustainability, which is one of the most important issues of the recent period, many companies take important steps to be sensitive to human health and the environment. In this context, we have developed environmentally and human health friendly lithium batteries.

The service life of lithium batteries is 3 times longer than conventional batteries and lasts for more than 10 years. Even after their lifetime, they can be used at low capacity in less intensive operations.

It should be seen that companies that turn to lithium batteries in the in-field logistics sector will save an average of 70% in the long term and in addition, they will take a step to eliminate the problem of environmental pollution, which is a global problem.

As Yiğit Akü, we are working with all our strength to introduce sustainable lithium batteries to the world.  We continue to provide solutions to businesses that want to achieve efficiency with lithium ion batteries that we have developed to be suitable for all brands and models of forklifts, pallet trucks and stacking machines.
