LİTHİUM BASED BATTERİES

Energy is one of the indispensable needs in our daily lives. Especially in mobile applications, energy storage and usage are realized with batteries. Batteries are devices that store electrical energy as chemical energy and can release it back as electrical energy when needed.

Lithium-based batteries dominate a large portion of the market in mobile applications. All of our electronic devices are equipped with lithium-based batteries.

Batteries are generally classified into 2 main categories based on their charging capabilities.

Primary Battery: Non-rechargeable batteries without the ability to charge.

Secondary Battery: Rechargeable batteries with the ability to charge and reuse.

Additionally, lithium batteries can be classified into 3 main categories based on their physical shapes: pouch, cylindrical, and prismatic types. The cylindrical cell is produced by rolling the elements inside the battery like a roll, placing them into a metal enclosure, filling with electrolyte, and placing the pole piece. In prismatic and pouch cells, battery elements such as anode and cathode are stacked on top of each other or folded over to form a pack.
